The invasion occurred just before sunrise while everyone was still asleep. There was a faint rustle, the smallest scrape. Then up through branches the alien climbed, stealthy as a hunting cat.

This is a great book for Book clubs, and reading out loud. This is a good book, witha very interesting plot. This makes me want to read her other books.

I'm a senior elementary education major and after reading this book I will never look at squirrels in the same way. I see them everyday when I take my afternoon jogs and this book has made my jogs seem more meaningful. It has made me look at life with a new perspective.
