A truly worthwhile read with

A truly worthwhile read with multiple facets to consider and ponder long after the story ends... I loved this tale and wanted it to keep on going. I rescue cats and kittens from the county kill shelters and the streets - in many ways, they resemble the characters in this story. One thing that always stirs me in particular when I take in a litter of kittens, is their innocent magic and how easily they can cast a spell on most humans.

This book speaks to so many of the things that are on our minds today in this country: the environment, the role of government, and what happens to the outcast members of our society. Highway Cats brings out the feral animal in all of us! And it's a story about what you can do with the power of friendship.

Cats and kits rule!

This is a wonderful story about hope. Ms. Lisle's comments "What is Fact and What is Fiction" on her website added even more layers to the story. Loved it.
